Consent Logging
LegalBanner records every consent decision made by your visitors, giving you a complete audit trail for compliance.
What's Logged
Each consent event includes:
- Timestamp — When the decision was made
- Domain — Which domain the visitor was on
- Region — Visitor's country (detected via edge headers)
- Event Type — What action the visitor took
- Consent State — Which categories were accepted or rejected
- Banner Version — Which version of the banner was shown
Event Types
- Impression — The banner was displayed to the visitor
- Accept All — Visitor clicked "Accept All"
- Reject All — Visitor clicked "Reject All"
- Save Preferences — Visitor customized their preferences and saved
Privacy by Design
LegalBanner minimizes personal data collection:
- No raw IP addresses are stored
- User agents are hashed — cannot be reversed to identify individuals
- No cross-site tracking — consent data stays within your site
Analytics Dashboard
The consent log page shows 30-day statistics:
- Total impressions — How many times the banner was shown
- Accept rate — Percentage of visitors who accepted
- Reject rate — Percentage who rejected
- Custom rate — Percentage who customized preferences
CSV Export
Download your consent events as a CSV file for external analysis or compliance audits. The export includes all tracked fields.
