Creating Your First Site

After signing up and creating your organization, the first step is to add a site to LegalBanner.

Step 1: Navigate to Sites

From your dashboard, click Sites in the left sidebar. Then click the New Site button.

Step 2: Enter Site Details

  • Site Name — A friendly name for your website (e.g. "My Blog" or "Company Store").
  • Default Consent Mode — Choose how the banner behaves by default:
- Opt-in — Visitors must actively consent before any non-essential cookies are set. Required for GDPR/EU compliance. - Opt-out — Non-essential cookies are allowed by default, and visitors can opt out. Common for US/CCPA compliance.

Step 3: Add Domains

After creating the site, go to Settings and add the domains where this site will be used. For example:

  • example.com
  • www.example.com
  • shop.example.com
Each domain must match exactly where the banner script will load. The number of domains you can add depends on your plan:
  • Free — 1 domain
  • Starter — 3 domains
  • Pro — 10 domains

Step 4: Choose Regions

Select which regional compliance frameworks apply to your visitors:

  • EU / UK — GDPR + ePrivacy Directive (opt-in required)
  • USA — CPRA/CCPA (opt-out model)
  • Canada — PIPEDA + Quebec Law 25
  • Middle East — UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and more
LegalBanner adapts the banner behavior, text, and policy templates based on your selected regions.

What's Next?

Once your site is created, you'll need to install the cookie banner on your website.
